Do not waste your time with inexperienced trainers, no matter how good they are at playing chess. You should also start right. Group classes are good for beginners who are similar in age and ability. When you are serious about higher level performance no one will get you to aprox 1600 level faster! School chess clubs are only good for practice, and only then if there are a few students in the group who are actually challenging to play against.
